Account books with many client names listed. This list is of use to family historians who suspect they may have relatives in the Carlisle area and cannot find any more information about them. It may give you a small amount of genealogical data which will enable you to move your research on.

John Ferguson's account books for his textile manufacturing company Robert Ferguson & Son. It contains many names of cleints and traders, but only their names, no addresses.
Therefore this collection is only likely to be of use in breaking a research dead end: if you have very little information about a relative you know to have lived and traded in the Carlisle area then this collection may point you to some information which will allow you to move your research on.
