This manuscript is a transcript of a series of articles that appeared in the Athenaeum, 1842-1843, giving itineraries and descriptions of monuments that could be visited in day excursions by railway from London, with notes on the relevant locations' histories. The particular sections are entitled 'Norbury Park', 'Stoke Pogeis - Burnham - Maidenhead', 'Malmesbury Abbey', 'Panshanger', 'Chiddingstone and Hever' and 'Winchester' (twice).
