Using the glossary

We've made a lot of effort to not use technical terms on the site, but occasionally it is unavoidable. Therefore the site has a built-in glossary.

If you hold the mouse pointer over a word with a pink dashed underlining then a definition of that word will appear in the Glossary box on the far right of the screen.

Try it now by holding the mouse cursor over any of the following words:

Archive, handlist, collection level description, Helpers description.

The next item in this tutorial is How to browse the Helpers descriptions.

The Helpers system is developed as part of the Accessing our Archival and Manuscript Heritage project, at Senate House Library, University of London, funded by the Laser Foundation and the EARL Consortium. Please see the project website for further details.
